October 2008, anniversary of the joint venture
On 31 October 2008 in the Austrian town of Gleisdorf the foundations were laid for the future success of STATEC BINDER, a company which specialises in bagging and palletizing free-flowing bulk goods. Binder+Co AG and BT-Systems GmbH combined their expertise in packaging technology to form the joint venture STATEC BINDER.
It all began with the first bagging machine produced by Binder+Co AG in 1978. Just over two decades later in 1999 Statec Anlagentechnik was established in Gleisdorf. The company was taken over by BT-Systems GmbH in 2006. This was followed by the founding of the joint venture in 2008. During the last 40 years more than 1300 machines have been successfully installed in over 75 countries on all five continents.

STATEC BINDER is still benefiting today from the combined knowledge and expertise of the two companies that set it up. It is also constantly adding to its product portfolio, which consists of bagging machines for bags from 5 kg to 50 kg, palletizers and Big Bag filling stations for bags from 250 kg to 2000 kg. All the machines are developed and manufactured at STATEC BINDER’s own ISO 9001-certified plant in Gleisdorf.
In the space of only ten years the Austrian company based in Styria has become a leading global player and specialist in the field of bagging and palletizing machines. Its high-quality systems are in demand all over the world. As a result, over recent years STATEC BINDER has seen rapid growth. Its workforce, which consisted of 20 people in 2008, has increased to more than 70 in its anniversary year. It has also succeeded in winning the biggest contract awarded within the industry this year. This was the second largest contract in STATEC BINDER’s history with a value of almost 9 million euros.

The STATEC BINDER team celebrated the company’s first “big birthday” with a two-day trip to Slovenia this autumn. The team members visited the towns of Piran and Portorož, watched the sun go down during an evening boat ride and successfully hunted for highly sought-after summer truffles. The company gave itself its biggest anniversary present. At the start of the year it moved into its new and impressive office building. Around 60 employees work in the light and airy facility, which covers an area of 1400m².
